Highest-paid NBA players:

The NBA and its players reached a new collective bargaining agreement in December heading off a potential labor stoppage next season, which seemed like a foregone conclusion 18 months prior. Players and owners were at odds on how to divide a blockbuster, new $24 billion TV contract, which was triple the previous annual amount. But in the end, there was too much money on both sides to blow up the golden goose.
The NBA average salary is expected to reach $10 million for the 2020-21 season, but the greatest beneficiaries of the new CBA are the league’s biggest stars who can reap contracts worth more than $200 million over five years starting next season.
While rank-and-file players populate the executive boards of the Players Associations of most leagues, the NBA is led by the game’s biggest stars with Chris Paul as President and LeBron James his first lieutenant.
