William Hall brings his Michael Jackson show to Sydney

ONE of the world’s leading Michael Jackson tribute artists, William Hall is ready to thrill Australian audiences again.
Hill’s Michael Jackson: The Legacy tour, combines all the colour and spectacle of Jackson’s musical journey, including his Bad, Dangerous and HIStory solo world tours, into one concert that Hall says is much more than just a tribute show or impersonator act.
The Legacy features replica sets of Jackson’s concerts as well as costumes, think plenty of bling like that silver sequined glove, and his signature dance moves, including the moonwalk.
“I wear all the well-known outfits from his hit songs, videos and concerts and I dress my dancers as well,” Hall says.
“I even costume my band.”
Slipping into the familiar red and black winged jacket of the man behind the biggest-selling album of all time, Thriller (1982) is about more than the music for Hall, it’s about the art — something he shares with Jackson.
They both took to the stage before they even started school, with Hall performing from the age of three and Jackson joining the Jackson Family line-up, that included his older brothers Tito, Jermaine and Jackie, by the time he was five.
“I was about 15 when I started singing Michael Jackson songs but I didn’t start wearing the costumes until later, once the whole Thriller era began,” Hall says.

Hall has appeared and performed in venues all over the world from Las Vegas to Berlin and has entertained artists such as Diana Ross and Jackson’s family, including parents Katherine and Joe.
Katherine even posed for a photograph with Hall, in his Michael Jackson guise, after he performed with the Legends in Concert at Harrah’s Las Vegas in 2011.
“Performing for Michael’s mother was truly an out of body experience and a very special memory,” Hall says.
The King of Pop’s music continues to resonate with people all over the world, Hall says.
The Texas native’s emulation of all things Jackson also extends to his cast members, including guitarist Tommy Organ from Jackson’s This Is It tour and choreographer LaVelle Smith Jr from the Bad and Dangerous tours .
