Legendary Musician Chuck Berry Found Dead

Legendary rock and roll guitarist/pioneer Chuck Berry was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon at 1:26 p.m.

The details surrounding his death are still ambiguous, but police from St. Charles County said they responded to a “medical emergency” at Chuck’s residence near St. Louis, Missouri.

First responders found Chuck unresponsive, even after multiple “lifesaving techniques” were applies.

St. Louis police released the following statement:

Inside the home, first responders observed an unresponsive man and immediately administered lifesaving techniques.

Unfortunately, the 90-year-old man could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at 1:26 p.m.

The St. Charles County Police Department sadly confirms the death of Charles Edward Anderson Berry Sr., better known as legendary musician Chuck Berry.

The family requests privacy during this time of bereavement.

Chuck Berry was an African-American singer, songwriter, and guitarist.

Among his most famous songs include “Maybellene” (1955), “Roll Over Beethoven” (1956), “Rock and Roll Music” (1957), and “Johnny B. Goode” (1958).

Through his use of guitar solos and showmanship, Chuck pioneered the “cult-of-personality” elements that would later become hallmarks of modern rock and roll.
